Hello, fellow travel people. The summer holiday season is here. In the US, the official start comes in tandem with the three-day weekend to commemorate Memorial Day. For as long as there have been cities, people have flocked to the country or the beach for long weekends to escape the heat. Most recently many 9-5 workers have embraced the idea of Summer Fridays, taking off early or entirely to maximize the inherent celebratory nature of a warm weekend. The pro move, however, is to work those Summer Fridays and instead, take Monday off. Here are just a few of the advantages of switching it up:
1️⃣ You can’t get stuck at work if you never show up
2️⃣ Fridays are just less hectic in the summer so you’ll likely escape early anyway
3️⃣ Sunday night becomes Saturday night, part 2
4️⃣ You start the week with only four days to go!
I know not everyone enjoys this kind of privilege and flexibility but, if you can, look ahead and determine if you're able to swing a Monday off here and there. If you have vacation days, use them. And remember that summer is a season of possibilities, opportunities and most importantly, FUN. To get you on your way, here are our favorite places to travel this June.
