Introducing A Total Trip
A friend sent me a TikTok where a woman voiced frustration with “travel influencer culture” on social media – specifically when influencers show gorgeous places but never offer price tags for how much visiting those destinations costs.
It’s a great point. Sure, it’s fantastic to be inspired and dream about the luxurious places we could go – but what’s the reality? Does this fit into my budget? What’s an achievable dream that won’t leave me broke?
You'll find answers to all of these questions in our series “A Total Trip” where a writer – who has paid for the trip out of their own pocket – breaks down how much it cost them to go on that vacation. From where they stayed to how much they paid for a beer, you’ll get an idea of what to budget to travel to that destination… and whether you can afford it.
