Dear Traveling Friends, Four weeks ago, I kicked off my annual Christmas fundraiser by issuing a challenge to fight hunger by supporting Bread for the World — and boy, have you responded. So far 3,440 travelers have joined in with contributions totaling $408,000. Thank you! With my dollar-for-dollar match, so far we've collectively raised $816,000 to help power Bread for the World’s work in explaining to Congress why fighting hunger at home and abroad is a good investment...how it makes our world a safer and more stable place. I’m thankful we’ve almost met our goal. But we still need your help. In the last few years, Bread for the World has been very effective in its advocacy work encouraging our government to not cut vital services to our nation’s most needy. And right now with inflation, warfare, and impact of climate change, Bread’s work takes on a special urgency. Historically, every dollar raised by Bread for the World generates $100 for hungry and poor people in the US and abroad. Supporting Bread now can result in literally billions of dollars of aid for the poorest of the poor during this time of soaring global food prices and record-long drought.
